Cold Outbound · AI Stack

The Stack.
3 replies before lunch.

The exact cold outbound workflow that got 3 positive replies 2 hours after launch. On a Monday morning. Cybersecurity niche.

This is an operator's runbook, not a blog post. Hand the whole thing to your AI agent, Claude Code, and work through it step by step. Each step tells you what the agent does and the exact instruction to give it.

The entire workflow runs in one Claude Code session. No Zapier, no Clay, no n8n, no engineers. Three accounts and a terminal. What follows is the same stack that produced 3 positive replies two hours after launch, on a Monday morning, in the cybersecurity niche.

Section 01The stack at a glance

OperationOne agent orchestrates every tool in one place, so you never export a single CSV by hand.

The trick isn't any single tool. It's that the agent runs all of them from one seat: sourcing, signals, email-finding, list hygiene, copy, and launch. Here is the full stack and where each piece runs.

#ToolRoleWhere it runs
1DeeplineSourcing + intent layer (orchestrates the data providers below)The data engine
2Crustdata (YC F24)ICP-fit accounts: firmographics, role data, intentRouted through Deepline
3PredictLeadsHiring + funding/raise signals per accountRouted through Deepline
4Hunter.ioEmail finding + verificationRouted through Deepline
5Claude CodeThe operating system: sort, clean, tier, writeYour terminal
6SmartleadSending, warming, launch, reply classificationThe sequencer

You only sign up for three things: Deepline (which gives you tools 2 through 4 through one interface), Claude Code, and Smartlead. Everything else is routed.

Section 02Setup, do this once

OperationInstall three tools once. After that, the whole workflow runs from a single Claude Code session.

Deepline is the data layer. Install the CLI and agent skills by giving your agent this one line:

Install the Deepline CLI and skills from https://code.deepline.com/agent-install.txt

Once installed, Claude Code can call Crustdata, PredictLeads, and Hunter through Deepline, with no separate logins to manage. (Curious what's under the hood: Crustdata at crustdata.com, PredictLeads at predictleads.com, Hunter at hunter.io.)

The other two accountsClaude Code is the orchestrator that runs everything (claude.com/claude-code). Smartlead is where the campaign actually sends from (smartlead.ai). That's the entire setup.

Section 03Source the list

OperationPull target companies and contacts in one call, with hiring signals and firmographics attached. No CSV exports, no manual list building.

Deepline pulls the accounts and the contacts in a single call, with firmographics and hiring signals already attached. You skip the export-import-merge dance entirely.

Using Deepline, build me a target list for [your ICP, e.g. "Series A-B cybersecurity SaaS companies, 50-300 employees, US/UK"]. Pull the matching accounts plus 1-2 contacts per account at [target titles, e.g. "Head of Sales, VP Sales, CRO, Founder"]. Attach firmographics and any hiring or funding signals available in the same pull. Show me the count first before spending credits.
Pro tipAlways make it return the count first (Deepline can size an audience for ~free before pulling). If the number is 12 or 50,000, your ICP filters are wrong, fix them before you spend a credit.

Section 04Layer the intent signals

OperationCrustdata gives the base ICP-fit layer. PredictLeads surfaces hiring and raise signals on every account before you write a word of outreach.

Crustdata supplies firmographics, role data, and intent. PredictLeads adds the live triggers, who is hiring and who just raised, so your openers are built on something real instead of "I saw your website."

For each account on the list, enrich through Deepline: - Crustdata for firmographics + role data - PredictLeads for active hiring signals and any recent funding/raise events Flag every account that is hiring for [relevant roles] or has raised in the last 90 days. Add the signal as a column I can reference in the copy later.
Pro tipA raise from 90+ days ago is stale, don't open with "congrats on the round." Tell the agent to only flag recent signals so your openers stay credible.

Section 05Find and verify the emails

OperationFind work emails for every contact and verify them before they ever hit the sequencer. Verified-only protects your sender reputation from day one.

Hunter finds the work email and verifies it in the same pass, before anything touches Smartlead. Verifying up front, not after the bounces roll in, is what keeps a new domain alive.

Find and verify work emails for every contact using Hunter through Deepline. Drop anything that comes back risky, catch-all, or unverifiable. Keep only verified emails in the final list.
Pro tipBounces are the fastest way to wreck a new domain. Verifying before upload, not after the bounces roll in, is the single highest-ROI habit in this whole workflow.

Section 06Sort, clean, and tier the list

OperationIn one session, Claude Code sorts and segments the list, removes duplicates, normalizes messy company names, and tiers leads into priority buckets.

This is where Claude Code earns its title as the operating system. In a single session it de-duplicates, fixes the messy company names a real person would never say out loud, segments into buckets, and tiers every lead by fit and signal strength.

Take the enriched, verified list and: 1. De-duplicate by person and by company domain. 2. Normalize company names to how a person would actually say them (drop "Inc / LLC / Technologies / Software Solutions" noise, fix ALLCAPS and lowercase). 3. Segment into buckets by [vertical / signal / seniority]. 4. Tier each lead 1-3 by ICP fit and signal strength. Output a clean CSV per bucket, ready to load into a sequencer.
Pro tipTiering matters more than people think. Your Tier-1 leads (perfect fit + live signal) deserve a tighter, more personal angle than the Tier-3 volume leads. Same campaign, different temperature.

Section 07Write the personalized openers

OperationWrite the opener for each lead from the signal you already pulled, the hiring post, the raise, the role data, not from generic "I saw your website" filler.

The opener is built from the signal you already have on the row. The hiring post, the raise, the role, whatever is strongest. One session writes every opener and drops them straight into a column your sequencer can map.

For each lead, write a one-line opener built off its strongest signal (hiring, raise, role). Rules: conversational, 5th-grade reading level, no "I noticed / I saw," no AI tells, under ~20 words. Lead with the consequence of the signal, not the act of observing it. Then drop it into a {{custom_opener}} column mapped to my sequencer.
Pro tipThe opener's only job is to prove relevance in one line. The offer does the selling. Don't let the agent over-write the opener, short and specific beats clever.

Section 08Load and launch

OperationLoad the cleaned, personalized list into Smartlead, where inbox warming, the sending schedule, and reply classification live. Then you launch.

Smartlead is the last stop: warming, schedule, ESP matching, reply classification. The agent loads the bucket, maps the variables, spreads across your warmed mailboxes, and pauses for your review before a single email goes out.

Load the final bucket into Smartlead as a campaign, mapping {{custom_opener}} and {{company_name}}. Use plain-text sending (no open tracking). Spread across my warmed sender mailboxes with ESP matching on. Then pause for my review before it sends.
Pro tipKeep tracking pixels off and send plain-text. Open-tracking pixels are a known spam signal in 2026, and you don't need opens when you're optimizing for replies anyway.

ClosingThe one principle underneath all of it

Six tools, one session, three replies before lunch, but the tools aren't the lesson. This is what happens when your stack is wired correctly and the offer actually matches the ICP temperature: a live hiring signal, a verified inbox, an opener that proves you read the signal, and an offer they can't get a "no" out of fast enough. The stack just lets one person run it end to end.
